The Vision and Goals of the State Government
The state government has set ambitious targets to increase the share of renewable energy in the state’s energy mix. The goal is to reduce the state’s reliance on fossil fuels and mitigate the impact of climate change.
By 2023, the total energy saving is expected to reach 1.34 million tonnes of oil equivalent. Telangana has taken several measures to reduce energy consumption and promote renewable energy. The state has set up over 2,400 solar-powered water pumps to provide free water to farmers in rural areas. Additionally, the state has implemented a scheme to provide incentives to farmers to install solar-powered irrigation systems. The government has also launched a program to distribute free electricity to farmers during the non-rainy season. This program aims to reduce energy consumption during the off-season and help farmers conserve water. Furthermore, the state has introduced a new scheme to provide incentives to farmers for using bio-fuel instead of fossil fuels for their vehicles. The scheme aims to reduce the environmental impact of farming by using bio-fuel. In addition to these initiatives, Telangana has also implemented several other measures to promote renewable energy and reduce energy consumption. The state has set up a number of wind farms to generate electricity from wind power.
