This deal allows the Crown Lands to retain ownership and control of the land, while also ensuring that the lease is renewable and can be extended for another 25 years. The proposed Lake Victoria Wind Farm would be located on Crown Lands and would generate enough electricity to power around 50,000 homes. The project would be developed in phases, with the first phase starting in 2025 and completing in 2030.
