This announcement from the Korean battery maker marks its continued expansion in the rapidly growing energy storage market in Europe, with its participation in InterBattery Europe 2025, set to take place in Munich, Germany, from June 7 to 9. The exhibition, part of Europe’s largest energy industry gathering, The Smarter E Europe, will see around 200 companies attend and share their knowledge and expertise in the sector.
- The Smarter E Europe is a prominent event in the energy industry, providing an ideal platform for Samsung SDI to showcase its energy storage solutions and forge new partnerships with major players in the region.
- The event will also serve as an opportunity for Samsung SDI to demonstrate its capabilities in designing energy storage system batteries for diverse customer applications.
- Moreover, InterBattery Europe 2025 will allow Samsung SDI to build on its existing presence in the European market, while strengthening its position as a trusted partner in the energy storage sector.
Samsung SDI plans to present a diverse range of energy storage solutions, including its uninterruptible power supply system, the U8A1, as well as its energy storage solution, the Samsung Battery Box 1.5, which was previously unveiled at InterBattery Seoul 2025 in March.
| Product Features | Product Description |
|---|---|
| U8A1 Uninterruptible Power Supply System | This system is designed to provide power to data centers during outages, featuring ultra-high power output and high power density, while occupying minimal space. It has been selected as a finalist for The Smarter E Award, recognizing its innovation and impact on the energy storage sector. |
| Samsung Battery Box 1.5 | This energy storage solution is shaped like a 20-foot-long container and is equipped with an advanced fire suppression system that injects extinguishing material directly into overheating cells, providing enhanced safety. This product has also been showcased at InterBattery Seoul 2025 earlier this year. |
“The U8A1 is designed to deliver reliable power supply to data centers during outages, while its modular design allows for easy integration into existing data center infrastructure,” stated a Samsung SDI official. “We believe that this product will meet the increasing demand for energy storage solutions in the data center sector, driving growth for our business.”
“A leading technology company in Korea, Samsung SDI has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to innovation in the energy storage sector. Our participation in InterBattery Europe 2025 is a testament to our vision of becoming a global leader in this area, and we look forward to strengthening our presence in the region’s rapidly growing energy storage market,” said the official.
