Wisconsin Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of Home Energy Rebate Programs

Wisconsin is taking a significant step towards reducing energy use and lowering utility bills for its residents, thanks to the Home Energy Rebate Programs. Launched in August 2024, the programs have already helped over 200 households across the state make energy-efficient upgrades, saving them thousands of dollars on their energy bills. Since their launch, the Home Energy Rebate Programs have paid out over $2 million in rebates to households for installing energy-efficient measures such as air sealing, insulation, heat pumps for cooling and heating, and electric panels and wiring. The programs have also helped create new job opportunities for the state’s network of IRA registered contractors, with nearly 200 contractors now able to assist households with energy efficiency upgrades. The programs are administered by Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency program. Using its existing framework for delivering energy efficiency programs and rebates, Focus on Energy is uniquely positioned to deliver the Home Energy Rebate programs to households across the state expeditiously and effectively.
