Every couple of years or so, we change over our entire battery cell factories with our vendors.”

Moravy also noted that while solid-state batteries and super capacitors are being researched, lithium-ion and lithium iron-phosphate cells have proven their worth in terms of energy density and capability. “I still think there’s a lot of gains to be made in microchemistry and in those formfactors,” he said.

“The biggest challenge we face is the cost of materials and the complexity of the manufacturing process,” said Dr. Liang, a leading researcher in the field of solid-state batteries. “However, with continued investment and innovation, I believe we can overcome these challenges and bring solid-state batteries to market.”
